We are weavers, master weavers! Each student got 10-12 strips of water color paper which they then painted however they wanted. Once everyone was done they worked together (girls at one table, boys at the other) to plan out there weave patterns! After that they worked together to get them woven for the finished project!
This week 3rd/4th are working on abstract type art. Each were given an animal and free range to create their abstract piece!
We’ve been working on using our elements of art to create an original work of art. Each student was asked to pick at least two elements to use in their creation. We aren’t quite through yet but here are some progress pictures!
After learning about the artist Alberto Giacometti, 3rd graders “struck a pose” for their friends to sketch them in the style of Giacometti ( extremely tall, impossibly thin, unproportioned). They are currently working on sculpting a “metal” (tin foil) Giacometti figure!
