The past two weeks were spent on Reverse Value Drawings. We started out by picking a reference image. With a large selection of images divided by difficulty, everyone got to pick something they were comfortable with, though I did encourage picking something with a bit of challenge to it. Despite some nervousness in the initial drawing of the pictures, most everyone got the hang of things very quickly. They realized it wasn’t really that different from drawing the sphere. So, working from the lightest point down to the darkest, we started to see images pop out of the pages. They’re pretty amazing in their finished states, but I’ll save the reveal until everyone finishes up next class. Stay tuned for a picture!
