The past two weeks in the Pre-Prepper Art Class were used to explore the senses of sight and smell. For smell, we painted scratch-and-sniff flowers with Kool-Aid paints. We built our flower stems and leaves out of construction paper before putting the colorful garden together.
We also focused on our sense of sight to work by matching colors and shapes through a variety of games. We began with a coloring exercise. Washable coloring pages let us create, erase, and then begin anew in an endless loop of wonder. We followed that by introducing the game of Bingo. A couple minutes of play brought a new sense of excitement to finding and identifying shapes and colors. And, finally, by decorating our color train on the wall with stickers, we got to have fun while still learning to match our colors.
